Job Title:Corporate and Community Fundraising Intern

Responsible to: Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager

Post: 3-5 days a week with expenses stipend paid

Duration: 3 months(with the possibility to extend)

Background

Childreach International is a pioneering London-based charity that works with local communities around the world to create a brighter future for children living in poverty.

We were founded in 2004 by a group of committed undergraduates and academics who set out to create an International Development NGO that promotes child-centred community work and raises awareness about the realities of child poverty in developing countries.

We are looking to expand our fundraising targets by increasing the number of challenge events over the next year. The fundraising team need to support the groups participating in challenges this year and ensure that our alumni are aware of their contribution to Childreach International‘s excellent achievement last year.

This post is part of the Fundraising Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Research of new community and corporate partnership leads
  2. In depth researching and reporting for new partnership meetings
  3. Preparing Powerpoint presentations
  4. Planning of meetings, logistics, travel arrangements etc.
  5. Attend and assist in recruitment and information presentations and networking events
  6. Assist in the development of 2 flagship charity events to heldin 2011
  7. Ad-hoc extra responsibilities/ project dependent on individual performance to be discussed during post

Person Specification

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Research and reporting skills
  • Confident and outgoing personality
  • An understanding of the commercial/ private sector
  • Good Powerpoint skills
  • Energy and enthusiasm

Preferred

  • Experience of working within an international organisation and a good knowledge of issues relating to international poverty
  • Experience in public speaking or presentations
  • Experience working for a large organisation
  • Experience in Sales and Marketing
  • Experience in Events Management
