Winter has been going along very well with 3’ of snow in one week of February. We hope to go till mid to late March this year which makes last year seem like a bad dream. Our groomers have been running every day for a month with some days having two shifts going to keep the trails in top condition. So far this winter we sold concessions at the Lancaster Grand Prix which was a lot of fun although it was too bad the Sunday races were on the same day as the Super Bowl because I am sure attendance for Sunday would have been better. The Poker Run was a great success thanks to Roland, Carol and Maryanne and the rest of the Log Haven crew for allowing us to hold the event at their location it was a great success. Our card sharks Kim and Bobby once again made people’s dreams and broke people’s hearts. Once again Charlie did a spectacular job with the 50/50 raffle I think it is the biggest one we have had in several years that I can recall over $ 400 went to the lucky winner. Congratulations to all the winners of the prizes your attendance made the day exciting and fun.

I happened to be downtown on Saturday Feb 18th and took some pictures. There wasn’t a gas station or restaurant or store in Errol that wasn’t jammed with sleds and riders. There is nothing like a lot of snow and a 30 degree day to get everyone out on the trails. There had to be 300 sleds in the parking lots of LL Cote, Hawg Traugh and the Errol Restaurant. it was crazy and a nice sight that we never saw last year.

As of this writing we have one more club event this winter -- the Steak Feed organized by our own El Presidente and Mrs El Presidente and should be another big turnout. And of course we have club meetings on the first Friday of each month at the clubhouse on Route 26. Elections will be held the first Friday of April so please try and attend if you are in Errol. Overall it is looking like a great winter so please be safe on the trails and be careful as you ride make sure you have enough gas there seems to have been a run of sleds running out of gas this winter so plan accordingly.
