Boxer Rebellion: uprising in 1900 in which Chinese nationalists killed foreign diplomats and attacked the foreign settlement in Beijing

OBJECTIVE: Students will explain the effect of the press on U.S. involvement in the conflict in Cuba by describing what enabled the United States to win the war with Spain and analyze the effect of the Spanish-American War on the Philippines, Cuba, and Puerto Rico.
