APHS 2015 Summit, Yangon, Myanmar
Event Report
The 2015 APHS Summit was held at Yangon, Myanmar on December 10-12, 2015.
The event was attended by around 150 delegates from the Asia Pacific region and experts in the field of Hernia surgery from the Asia Pacific region and beyond. The event was first of its kind to be organized in Myanmar and it proved to be a major boost for the surgical fraternity of the region.
DAY 1 (10th December, 2015) offered a comprehensive overview of live surgeries and discussion of simple complex hernia cases. There were 11 procedures that were streamed live from the operation theatre to the delegates.
DAY 2 and DAY 3 (11th December, 12th December 2015) were organized at the Novotel hotel, Yangon where an exhaustive scientific program was executed.
On Day 2, Dr Anil Sharma was elected as the President of APHS for 2016-2018 during the Opening Ceremony.
The scientific program included 41 didactic lectures, 5 debates and 9 video sessions, 2 lunch symposia and 1 Presidential lecture. In the evening, an executive committee meeting was organized at the conference venue and the new secretariat was elected under the leadership of the incoming president Dr Anil Sharma.

Faculty dinner was organized on 11th December evening at rooftop in the Novotel Hotel. The dinner offered great networking opportunities and had a beautiful ambience with the night light of Bagoda.
DAY 3
The last day of the Congress included 3 debates, 10 video sessions and 16 didactic lectures by the experts.
The conference concluded post lunch. The event was very well organized with great scientific agenda and social evening.
