CALL FOR PROPOSALS
COMPASS CURRICULUM COURSE DEVELOPMENT GRANTS

The Compass Curriculum invites faculty to submit course development proposals for all areas of the Compass Curriculum.
ELIGIBILITY:
- All UCCS faculty, including tenured, tenure-track, instructors (full- and part-time), lecturers, and full-time non-tenure track faculty (including attendant, adjoint and other ranked faculty appointments) are eligible for this award. Applicants must have at least three semesters of teaching experience at UCCS.
- Awards will be limited to a maximum of $1000 stipend per course per faculty member dispersed as additional pay. Up to two faculty members can submit a grant together to develop the same course.
- The Compass Curriculum will fund up to two proposals per academic year per faculty member for Compass course development grants.
- Faculty who have not previously received funding for course development from the Compass Curriculum will receive priority consideration for funding.
- Awards will be based on merit of the proposal and the curricular needs of the Compass Curriculum.
- Awards are for development of courses for the Compass Curriculum. Proposals should focus on the work that the faculty member(s) will undertake after receiving the grant. Proposals should explain the course revisions or development and rationale. Modification of existing courses or development of new courses are both appropriate.
- Courses submitted in the areas of Navigate, Sustainability, and Summit (the communication portion in particular) may have priority in funding for course development. Courses with multiple flags (Inclusiveness, Sustainability and Writing Intensive) will also be reviewed favorably. However, proposals for ALL AREAS (to include Writing Intensive, Inclusiveness, and Explore) are expected to be funded.
- Faculty must secure the approval and support of their department or program chair prior to applying for this award.
- The $1000faculty stipend will be disbursed in two payments. The faculty memberwillreceive half of the stipend, $500, when the proposal is approved for development. The second half of the stipendwill be paid whenthe faculty member submits the course for approval by the Compass Curriculum Committee.
