Brazilian Taekwondo League (LNT), São Paulo State Government, São Paulo City and I respectfully invite you and your team to participate festival of 34th Brazilian Taekwondo Anniversary from January 22 to 26, 2004, in São Paulo, Brazil. We are honored to invite you and your team to participate in the 34th anniversary of Brazilian Taekwondo.

The Brazil Open organizing committee and LNT decided to move the event’s time frame from July to January. In Brazil, January is a great summer vacation season, you’ll have experience the best tropical weather and beaches. Moreover, January 25 is the 450th São Paulo city’s birthday.

The festival will be divided in:

Brazil Open Taekwondo championship 2004;

the 8th Miss Taekwondo International;

the 7th World Double Match Taekwondo Championships;

the 5th Brazil MUDO (Martial Art) Open Championships; &

the 5th International Taekwondo Seminars

The Brazil Open is best and largest Taekwondo competition in South America since 1997. The organizing committee is inviting more than 50 countries and we would like to ask your participation.

Your participation will provide a friendship opportunity, techniques exchange, new experience of culture and preparation and celebration of our sport being consecutive entry in Olympic games, moreover Taekwondo value and festival in Brazil.

As successful participation in Sidney Olympic Games, 2000. We should think about tournament like this as preparation period for the 2004 Olympic games in Athena’s. Therefore, I would like to congratulate all of Taekwondo Grand-Masters & Instructors for their hard work and effort for the Taekwondo development.

PROMOTER: Brazilian Taekwondo National League (LNT)

SPONSORED: State Secretary of Sport & Culture; São Paulo City 450 Year Celebration Committee.

ORGANIZER: Academia Liberdade (the 1st & biggest Taekwondo School in Brazil).

RULES: WTF Competition Rules and Single Elimination System.

QUALIFICATION: Any Junior, Senior & Master (male only) TKD competitors worldwide

Color Belts & Black Belts; Junior, Adult & Master (see weight division at below)

CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION: Round trip airfare, meal and should be provided by athlete. Promoter and sponsor will provide, local transportation, accommodation (see Brazil info form) & farewell party.

8th Miss Taekwondo International

Most Beautiful Taekwondo Competition in the World

Brazilian Taekwondo festival organized MISS TAEKWONDO INTERNATIONAL since 1997 (Miss 97: Marrianne Hormann, 17; Miss 98: Glaucia Gerch, 18; Miss 99: Daniela Bonilo, 20, Miss 2000: Lisa Marea, 17, Miss 2001: Brenda Carvalho, 19; & Miss 2002: Ana Paula, 17).

They were very successful events due to the fact that Taekwondo has many beautiful practitioners and it was an excellent atmosphere among participants, athletes, organizers and public. People learned about female practitioner’s beauty and showed what they got and can get from practicing Taekwondo

Miss Taekwondo International is an amateurs contest and we encourage all Taekwondo practitioners to participate in this exclusive world event. Brazilian Sport Television will cover Miss Taekwondo International 2004.

The 7th World Double Match TKD Championship

The most exciting and dynamic Taekwondo tournament in the world

The World Double Match Taekwondo Championship was created and developed in Brazil since 1997 and we would like to encourage all elite competitors to participated in this event.

It’s the newest, exciting and the most innovative Taekwondo competition in the world.

COMPETITION RULES:

1.  Team will be composed with 2 athletes which has same category in weight.

2.  Only 1 round of 5 minutes;

3.  Competitors of the same team can be switched with center referee’s permission when competitor gets fatigues, injured or disadvantaged, or within ant other sparring strategy.

4.  Only with center referee’s permission, you can switch with your partner after 30 second of fight;

5.  Fighter must attacking within 5 seconds or will receive a “kamjum” (reduction of 1 point);

6.  All “Kyong-ko”s (reduction of ½ point) will be replaced for Kamjum;

7.  Coach or competitor in the ring have right to call for a switch by rising his right arm to the central referee;

8.  In the case of an injury or any other circumstance, partner must step in immediately within 5 second of central referee’s signal.

POINT SCORING SYSTEM: 1-4 point scoring system

Kick or punch in body: One Point Kick in face: Two Point

Nice kicking with jump: Extra One Point Any knock down with attack: Add One Point

AWARD: Team Champions: Medals, certificates and any super trophies & Medals and Certificates to 2nd & 3rd place.

PARTICIPATION FEE: Team I fee will be U$ 150.00 (with or with out of any other event)

The 5th Brazil “MUDO” Open Championship

The Organizing Committee is one of the pioneer it kind of competition in Brazil. We would like to develop the “MUDO” spirit in Brazil and ask your participation using your discipline, power and experience in your journey of the Taekwondo.

We recommend all competitors to bring your own CD player if music is needed.

Qualification: Any Taekwondo or other martial art practitioner.

Formation: Each division must have more then 3 (three) competitor, otherwise will be join with others.

Material: All breaking materials (apple, breaking board & brick) will provide by organizer

Music: If you need music should bring own portable boombox and CD or tape.

Scoring System: 5 – 10 point system by:

I-  Techniques (ability and posture)

II-  Discipline (manners, time & choreography)
