5 year fixed term contract

The MBDA is a municipal entity of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM), and has invested public funds in a number of urban renewal projects over the past ten years in the Central Business District (CBD) and other emerging nodes in Nelson Mandela Bay which comprises of Port Elizabeth, Uitenhage and Despatch.

During 2016 the NMBM resolved that the MBDA, acting as its agent, manages and operates the Nelson Mandela Bay Multi-Purpose Stadium from January 2017 for a minimum period of three (3) years.

The MBDAis looking for aCLIENT/ CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISORthat will be responsible to manage sales and events teams and to identify new sales opportunities and co-ordinate event management.

Key Deliverables include the following:

  • Identify and implement a customer service strategy;
  • ensure achievement of customer service standards;
  • drive customer strategic plans;
  • Ensure service excellence levels are maintained and prepare and implement actions plans to improve the quality of customer service;
  • Meet annual sales targets
  • Prepare weekly/ monthly sales reports
  • Prepare annual department budget for approval and monitor expenditure against budget
  • Adhere to procurement policy and standards
  • Departmental administration duties
  • Execute agreed projects and maintain timeframes and deliverables
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationship

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or qualification in Communications, Marketing or Customer Service.
  • At least 5-10 years experience in similar role.
  • Experience in hospitality/food & beverage/events management/logistics/project management.
  • Sales experience.
  • An understanding of the Events act and the municipal laws and by-laws.
