Accounting Award 2013-14

Each chapter may select one applicant to represent the chapter in district competition. The top two district applicants are entered in the state level competition.

Purpose: To stimulate interest in financial record keeping and analysis for agricultural purposes and to recognize those who have done the most outstanding work in this area.

Award: Pending the availability of funds, state winners will receive a check for $200 and the state runner-up will receive a check for $100 from the National FFA. The third place finisher will receive a check for $50 from the Ohio FFA Foundation and the fourth place finisher will receive a check for $25 from the Ohio FFA Foundation.

Eligibility: Any junior, senior or first-year graduate FFA member who has completed at least two years of outstanding work with financial records. The applicant must submit record books for all years the student has been enrolled in Agricultural Education. Record books must be the official Agricultural Education record books (e.g. The AET) or the Commercial Farm Account Book and the General Record Book.

Procedure: Complete the Accounting Award application and submit it, along with all record books for all years the applicant has been enrolled in any and all Agricultural Education programs, at the district evaluation meeting.

Rules: This application cannot be altered in any way. Each cell has a limited number of characters that can be used. Large cells have a maximum of 1800 characters and the smaller cells have a maximum of 625 characters.

6.  Financial records are of no value if they are inaccurate. A committee should evaluate all records for completeness and accuracy. The same rating scale should be used for each applicant. Forty-five points is the maximum allowance for record books. Use the scoring plan located on last page of this award form. (0-45 points)
