‘A Stitch in Time?’ Outcomes working group - Application form

A Stitch in Time is a programme to explain the contribution of the third sector to care for older people.

We are setting up 2 working groups, each made up of 6-8 voluntary organisations in Lothian. The working groups will meet together facilitated by Evaluation Support Scotland (ESS) 6 times over 9 months from April 2013. Between sessions, you will apply learning to your own organisation. If useful we will continue to keep in touch less intensively to help you with evaluation for another year.

The output work will be a short document that describes in words and pictures:

·  The ‘outcomes journey’ of third sector services and support for older people

·  Links to Reshaping Care for Older people and local and national outcomes

·  Indicators and tools for evaluating care for older people outcomes

·  Case studies from your work to showcase examples of evaluating

This will help others to understand what third sector organisations contribute to care for older people and how to evaluate the contribution.

What’s in it for you?

·  Build your skills around explaining and measuring your impact

·  Bring your own evaluation needs to the table and find solutions

·  Increase the profile of your work and its importance

·  Have fun, enjoyment and network with others

·  Your organisation will receive £1,000. This is a small recognition of your commitment to the programme and will be paid in 2 instalments.

What’s the commitment?

One person from your organisation with practical understanding of services for older people and an interest in evaluation will attend and actively contribute to 6 learning set meetings and test out the learning with your organisation between meetings. It should work out at a day a month.

If you are interested please complete the attached form and return it to Diane Kennedy (details at the end of the form).

Please tell us briefly about your work with older people. This will help us ensure we have a mix of types of work in the learning set.
What would you want to get out of taking part in the learning set?
Do you have any requirements such as access, communication or diet?
Have you checked out that it’s OK for you to take part in the learning set (for example with a manager or board member). If so who?
