Bute artist Suzanne Brierley-Westall is one of five artists exhibiting during the SALA Festival at Yorke Peninsula’s newest gallery restaurant, Palate2Palette, in Port Broughton.

.

The SALA (SA Living Artists) Festival runs until 17 August with more than 1000 artists across the State taking part in 400 exhibitions.

Palate2Palette, located in the main street of Port Broughton, only opened at the end of February and already is winning a strong reputation for quality food, wine and art.

Owners Grant and Helen Rowlands, say they are excited by the enormous talent on display in the gallery.

“Suzanne is one of the most positive, energised people I have met and that shines through her work,” Grantsays.

“Despite a broken arm she captures light and color perfectly with her SALA exhibition, Earthly Delights, and you can almost smell the perfume of her giant blossoms.”

Other artists on display in the gallery include Adelaide glass artist Ivana Di Stasio with a range of exquisite dichroic glass paintings and jewellery, Wallaroo artist Rob Griffiths whose oil on canvas landscapes are reminiscent of French impressionists, Moonta watercolorist Ron Wilson, Crafers artist Wolfgang Guntner, Adelaide impressionist and abstract artist, Margaret Tuckey and Hallet Cove artist Ann Bates

“In all we have nearly 40 pieces of highly diverse and stimulating work on display,” Grantsays.

“I encourage people to come along and view, appreciate and support our State’s artists.”

Palate2Palette also has a extensive a la carte menu and quality wine list that will tantalize the tastebuds.

“People can come in for a coffee and cake, share a platter and a glass of wine by the wood fire or enjoy lunch or dinner with full table service, “ Helen says

“The winter menu includes a range of hearty home-made soups and pot pies and we offer a gourmet breakfast on Sundays,” Helen says.

“We want our customers to relax, soak up the ambience and enjoy quality food, wine and coffee with friendly service.

“Currently we are open Friday and Saturday 10am to 10pm and Sunday and public holidays 10am to 4pm. During holiday season trading hours will be extended.”
