Pro-Bono Committee Update:

The New York Paralegal Association would like to Thank the Paralegal Association Members who volunteered for Citizenship Day on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the Five Boroughs and at Hofstra University Law School. It was a great learning experience! Stay tuned for future pro-bono activities.

I am glad I made an effort and participated in this Citizenship Day project in Manhattan. It was very interesting and the actual learning experience. I completed in full 1 application; reviewed 3, and also gave my contact information to somevolunteers interesting in our association. The most rewarding was when people actually were saying "thank you, you helped me." Eleanor Osmanoff

Job Bank Committee:

Dear Members:

We are aware that there are a lot of our fellow paralegals who recently lost their jobs as well as newly graduated students looking for an employment. We recommend you to register at Web-based career center that connects job seekers with prospective employers in the paralegal field. Don’t loose the opportunity to be on the top of the search list when time comes.

NYCPA’s Job Bank distinguishes itself from generalist job boards in a number of ways. It’s highly targeted with a focus on employment opportunities for paralegal professionals in the metropolitan New York area. This makes the difficult task of finding highly skilled, experienced legal candidates easier. Recruiters can focus their recruitment advertisement and target their exact paralegal audience – thus improving their recruiting ROI. The Job Bank also has an anonymous resume system that enables job candidates to stay connected to the paralegal marketplace while maintaining full control over their confidential information.

The job board, powered by career services leader JobTarget, can be found at
