September Newsletter
Dear Parent/Carer,
Welcome back! Not much of a summer was it?!Nevertheless we are all back rested and ready for a new term. I would like to welcome all the families who have joined us this year, in Reception and throughout the school. As usual, we have a range of exciting opportunities for the children this year and I am confident that we will continue to be a strong, successful and happy school. We are an open and friendly staff so if you have any concerns or would like any further information on any aspect of the school, please come in and see us.
Improvements to the school building
I hope that you will all have had a chance to see the newly refurbished Kingfisher classroom. All of the toilets have also been refurbished and the hall has been redecorated. All classes have been given their own outdoor seating area. This is part of our ongoing commitment to improving the learning environment for the children. Staff have worked extremely hard to prepare bright, welcoming and stimulating classrooms. Sadly, the deserted building site at the side of the school is not quite so pleasing but hopefully, work will resume soon and the end result will be a further asset to the school.
Hot meals
I would like to remind you that we are now offering hot lunches provided by The Wholemeal Lunch Company on Monday and Friday until half term, when we shall resume the service 5 days per week.if you would like further details, please call Melissa on 01278 723556 or email: . Moorhen Class enjoying their outdoor learning session
Parking
I have been asked by the owner of the garage to request that you do not park on the garage forecourt when dropping off and collecting your child. I would also like to remind parents that it is not acceptable for children to be dropped off or collected from the staff car park.
Holidays
I would like to remind parents that there are now very strict limitations on holidays in term time. Holidays are not permitted unless there are extreme extenuating circumstances. These restrictions are dictated by the government and I now have no discretion in these matters. Therefore, whilst I empathise with many requests for leave, please understand that I have to refuse authorisation for a holiday unless it meets these specific criteria. For details of the criteria please ask at the office.
GCSE Maths
Our GCSE Maths course will beginning on Wednesday September 17th at 3:30 in Kingfisher Class. If you would like any more information, please speak to Anne Moseley.
Consent form
Accompanying this letter are important requests for consent which I hope will minimise paperwork throughout the year. These are very important and I would ask you to complete and return them as soon as possible. if you have any queries regarding any of the activities, please don’t hesitate to ask.
