Objectives: Students will be able to:

  • Identify early migration patterns based on archeological evidence during the Paleolithic Era- East Africa, Eurasia, Australia and the Americas.
  • Explain how pastoralism began to transform societies.
  • Evaluate and analyze the role culture played in unifying states through laws, language, literature, religion, myths and monumental art.

Students will be placed in groups of 2-4 and develop a Mastery Learning Center on an assigned topic of study. The Mastery Center must include a visual component with pictures and captions (10), video 5 minutes in length on assigned topic, assessment with answer key (10 questions that include the following m/c, fill in the blank, and short essay), presentation component- 3-4 minutes long.
