SCHOLARSHIPS HIGHLIGHTED IN GREEN HAVE BEEN UPDATED & VERIFIED.
SCHOLARSHIPS IN RED HAVE NOT BEEN VERIFIED YET FOR 2018.
Complete the general application and attach a transcript and/or letters of recommendation.
Deadline for ALL local scholarships: APRIL 6, 2018 at NOON to the Flatonia HS counselor’s office.
Please pay close attention to the applications that require letters of recommendation and transcripts.
1. SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS HEALTH IMPROVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP
Applicant should have a sound academic record, and must be going into a health, medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, or nutrition field.
2. AUDREY MCWHIRTER AND GEORGE F. MCWHIRTER SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Applicant should be strong academically, exhibit leadership qualities, be of good character and have participated in school and/or community activities and attended FHS as a Junior and Senior.
Required – Two letters of recommendation
3. THE CHARLES D. BAUMBACH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Applicant should be strong academically, exhibit leadership qualities, be of good character and have participated in school and/or community activities and attended FHS as a Junior and Senior.
Required – Two letters of recommendation
4. SECOND CHANCE EMPORIUM SCHOLARSHIP
Applicants should have a sound academic record, be of good character and demonstrate financial need. Leadership qualities and school and/or community activities will also be considered.
5. FLATONIA MASONIC LODGE SCHOLARSHIP
Applicants should be of good character and demonstrate financial need. They should NOT be students graduating in the top 3 of the class.
6. KATY GARY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Applicant should have a sound academic record, and must be going into an education field.
Required – Two letters of recommendation
7. CHARLES KASPER AND FLORENCE BIGGERS BAKER SCHOLARSHIP
Applicant should be strong academically, and demonstrate financial need.
Required –Two letters of recommendation
8. MIKE SCHULZE SCHOLARSHIP
9. JACK GAINES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Applicant must be going into an agriculture/industrial field.
Required - Two letters of recommendation
10. JERRY WEIR SCHOLARSHIP
Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and plan to continue his/her educational journey. Applicant must be of good character, and community service hours are a plus. Anyone who has played golf 3 out of the 4 years of high school is recommended to apply, but this scholarship could be awarded to any athlete or for academic merit.
Required – Transcript and two letters of recommendation
11. FLATONIA HERMANN SONS SCHOLARSHIP
Student must be a member of the Flatonia Hermann Sons. NO NEED TO APPLY.
12. GERMANIA INSURANCE SCHOLARSHIP
Parent must be an employee.
13. FLATONIA BAND BOOSTERS SCHOLARSHIP
Applicant must be a member of band. See Mr. Hansen for details and an application.
14. FLATONIA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH SCHOLARSHIP
Student must be a member of the church.
15. AMERICAN LEGION MATHEW LYLE MOORE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Student must attend Boy’s State by American Legion. NO NEED TO APPLY.
16. AMERICAN LEGION MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Student must have parents/grandparents who are members. NO NEED TO APPLY.
17. FLATONIA HIGH SCHOOL INTERACT CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
Seniors will be selected based on membership in Interact Club.
NO NEED TO APPLY.

Required – Transcript and two letters of recommendation

23. WOMEN’S ACTION GUILD
Students must be a Czhilispiel queen or runner-up. NO NEED TO APPLY.
24. GVTC SCHOLARSHIP
Student will be awarded a $500 scholarship to be used toward a university, technical school, or another post-secondary educational institution. Preference given to students in the GVTC service area, but it is NOT required to win the scholarship.
