It was discussed on ways to improve these few and communication is the key – chat with other parents, keep the newsletters coming, apps and website updated.

General Business:

Fundraising:

Cricket event-Rose received an email today that the 4th or 5th September is down for a coaching clinic (after she emailed this morning!) If Doug Walters is unavailable that day – he will bring another reputable player. Confirmation of clinic within 2 weeks. Talks were held about inviting other schools, but decided to keep it small so the ratio of coaches to children be more beneficial. Rose to find out how the program is run, costs, accommodation and the like.

Raffle -

Discussions were held whether to go ahead with the Christmas Raffle at Rudds Pub where generally half of ticket sales are sold. From a prior discussion with Sam, it was said that if we didn’t proceed with one, other community groups could hold one.

It was decided to still hold a raffle, but with big ticket 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes depending on donations. This gives other groups the opportunity to use the pub. Sponsor request letters to be sent out and mention to Sam that we’ll be back next year.

Homestyle Pie Drive – Profit made was $383.70

Movie Night –a suggestion was put forward to hold a movie night at the Clifton Theatre for Father’s Day or a community event. Vicki is to contact the high school to see how they run a movie night. Rose will contact Ruth at the Theatre regarding dates, legalities of DVD’s and pricing.

Other -

Fridge: This still needs to be followed up. To send letters to Norco and / or Dairy Farmers to enquire about one being donated.

Shin Pads and Blue/Green socks: It was put forward that we purchase these for Gala Days. This saves parents having to source these items as a one off and beneficial to have in school supplies. Wendy to get quotes / donations.

Signatory: Wendy has been into the bank and signed on. Two current signatories are required to ‘sign’ Wendy in. Vicki and Cathy will go into Clifton branch in the coming days.

Project Club:It was suggested that the P&C aid the Project Club by holding a car boot sale at the markets. It would give staff an opportunity to be present and assist any school enquiries.

Operation Christmas Child: Asking parents to donate for this at the same time the P&C normally conduct a hamper raffle is excess. The Christmas packages for the Armed Forces were mentioned.

Note: Ed Qld Asbestos Video was watched
