Preparation and Packing List
Preparation
1. Re-read Rules, Regulations and Expectations Information prior to arrival
2. Check the OYM site for any new information concerning the Pilgrimage www.uocyouth.org
3. Bring any needed paper work
4. Speak to your parish priest about the Pilgrimage and ask for His Blessing before you leave.
5. Review the schedule of the Pilgrimage prior to arrival.
Packing List
- Clothing appropriate for work that may get you dirty(at least two outfits)
- Clothing appropriate for Liturgical services (at least two outfits)
- Journal
- Toiletries
- Bible
- Camera
- Spending money for Consistory Book Store
- Pillow, blanket(optional)
- Fall jacket/coat
- Umbrella
Please keep in mind that we are gathering together as Orthodox Christians as you pack your suitcase. We ask that you thoughtfully consider your clothing choices.
Travel
All travel times should be confirmed with Natalie Kapeluck by October 8th. Ensure to send your flight/train information and time of arrival.
Air – The nearest airport to South Bound Brook, NJ is Newark International. It is approximately 30-45 minutes from the Consistory Grounds.
Train – For those traveling from the Philadelphia, NY and/or NJ areas, the NJ Amtrak and NJ Railway has a stop in Bound Brook, NJ just 15 minutes from the Consistory.
Driving – For those driving to the Pilgrimage. You may use an online map service such as MapQuest or Yahoo Maps or AAA to obtain directions. The address for the Consistory is 135 Davidson Avenue, Somerset, NJ 08873.
The Crash Room – This is the living room/dining room at St. Sophia Seminary at which you can gather to meet fellow Participants during designated evening hours. You will need to check –in and out of the Crash Room. Movies, games and refreshments will be available in this room. There will be a chaperone present during Crash Room hours for high school students.
