THE BIRTH OF JESUS
Luke 2:7-20
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
Chant: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen! Amen!

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
December 21, 2008
“Where is He that is born King of the Jews? This question posed by the wise men from the east, the magi, in 5 B.C. is on the lips of many in 2008 A.D. The economy is in dire straits. Unemployment is on the rise. The automobile industry is in trouble. Home foreclosures are occurring at an alarming rate and the banking industry is experiencing a very turbulent period. Man’s inhumanity to man is incomprehensible and there is even a mean-spiritness in the Church. Where is He that is born King of the Jews? He is at work advancing His Kingdom. The King has by “Himself purged our sins, and sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Hebrews 1:3e). Wherefore, this King is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. “Save” here implies the ideas of deliverance, safety, preservation, healing and soundness. The King is involved in the lives of the believers. The question that need be asked is: Where are you in relationship to the Kingdom? The Book of Daniel tells us that: “The Kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the Kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High, whose Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him” (Daniel 7:27). “Where is He that is born King of the Jews”?
Dear brothers and sisters, the King is in the hearts of the believers. There, He is bringing about the abundant life.
May you have a very Merry Christmas as we celebrate the birth of The King.
