This step sheet will showyou how to color code documents:
and also change folders into pictures:
Notice how the folder for Pumpkin changed from the folder icon to a pumpkin.
Part One: How to color code folders:
1. Find the folder you want to color code. Here we will change the “Center Ideas” folder yellow:
2. Press the Ctrl key down as you click once on the folder. This menu will pop up:
Change the color by clicking on the color you want under “Color Label.”
3. Now the folder is yellow:
Part Two: How to change the folder icon into a picture:
1. Find the folder you want to change. In the example above, I changed the pumpkin file folder icon into a cartoon picture of a pumpkin.
2. Find an image you want using Google Image search or from some other source. When you find an image you want on Google Image search, Ctrl click on the image:
Highlight “Copy Image.” Now the image is saved to the clipboard.
3. Go back to the folder you want to change. Click on it once to highlight it without opening it. Then go to File, Get Info: (or you can use Apple I)
A window will open to give you all sorts of information about the file. Highlight the folder icon in the upper left hand corner, and use Apple V to paste the image you saved to your clipboard in place of the folder icon:

and my picture from Google
Image search is in its place.
How do I make the Folder Icon Larger?
Click once on the icon to highlight it.
Click on the View Menu and choose
View Options
Slide the bar under the Icon Size label
to the right --- the size of the icon will
increase
