Position Title / Project Manager
Location / Perth or Brisbane
Responsible for / Ensuring preparation/completion of mid range projects to appropriate quality standards within time/cost constraints as well as meeting contractual requirements and company budget requirements.
Reports To / Professional Services Manager
Supervises / No supervisory responsibilities.
Main Activities /
  • Liaising with Professional Services Manager, Account Managers and senior staff within client organisations regarding provision of professional services within negotiated contractual obligations for a program or project.
  • Drawing up a project plan with technical experts for approval by the client.
  • Maintaining and controlling cost, schedule and quality of project activities to run on budget, time, and meet agreed client requirements.
  • Managing phases of software implementation including requirements analysis, system design, specification, development, testing and implementation.
  • Managing installation/field testing of developed systems.

  • Effective in working with, communicating with, influencing and managing the expectations of client and senior management.
  • Fully competent in business management including value analysis, decision making, facilitation, costing/budgeting, prioritization, spoken and written communication.
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead professional staff, contractors and multi-disciplinary teams to achieve given objectives (often with multiple trade-offs).
  • Experience with a project management methodology.
  • Ability to identify and source (with the necessary communication with Resource Managers and the PSM) the most cost effective competent resources for the project or activity.
  • Fully competent in management of complex programs/projects and strong ability to multi-task and make quick decisions under pressure with sometimes limited information.
  • Ability to meet tight schedules and cost targets without compromising customer requirements.

  • Project cost performance (client acceptance of deliverables to project budget)
  • Project schedule performance (client acceptance of deliverables to project budget)
  • Additional measures will be taken into account (these are partially controllable by the PM, and in cases not directly measured) – eg growth of product/services at the client, profit per project, project days invoice outstanding, project WIP, project billing in excess, client satisfaction, project team morale.

Typical Experience /
  • Tertiary level education
  • 10 - 15 years of experience in a technical field (information technology, systems integration, consulting, development) with 3 - 4 years managing professionals.
