2016 GULF COAST CLASSIC

Tournament Rules/Admission

  1. Tournament softball passes will be $20 per person, 1 day pass will be $10 per person. Children 5th grade and under will be free.
  2. Coaches must enter with their coaches’ card. Only one will be allowed to enter with the coach according to AHSAA rules. No Exceptions!
  3. Home team will be determined by a coin toss and will be responsible for keeping the official book. Visiting team will keep the scoreboard. Scoreboard remotes are available at the t-shirt table. Please report scores upon returning the remote. This will help with the seeding.
  4. One hour and fifteen (75) minute time limit with no NEWinning to begin after 70 minutes during pool play. There will be one inning played by international tie breaking rules, if still tied during pool play. If no winner is declared game can end in a tie.
  5. Bracket games will be one hour fifteen (75) minute time limit with no NEW inning starting after 70 minutes. Ties at the end of time limit or 7 innings will be played out using the international tiebreaker.
  6. Championship game will be 7 innings or time limit, one of which must be agreed on by both coaches. If no agreement can be met then the coach that wins the flip at home plate will decide 7 or time limit.
  7. 12 run rule after 3, 10 after 4, 8 after 5 (to include championship game).
  8. Courtesy runner may be used for pitcher and catcher.
  9. No pre-game warm-up on infields. Balls may be hit behind 2nd and 3rd base and fly balls may be hit to the outfield.
  10. Do not hit balls into the fence.
  11. No Protests! Let the umpires make the calls. There will be a Tournament Director whose word will be FINAL!
  12. Each team must provide one NFHS approvedoptic yellow ball for each game. You must retrieve foul balls when your team is batting.
  13. One ice chest per team to be used in the dugout only. Team coolers will be marked with a wristband and it must be shown when entering the park. No other ice chest will be allowed. Park rules will be enforced. No grills or pets allowed in sports complex. Please let your parents know in advance.
  14. National Federation rules will apply throughout the tournament. Tournament seeding will be determined by (1) Wins (2) Runs allowed (3) Runs Scored (4) Head To Head (5) Coin Flip
  15. Please help with the trash in your dugout and bleachers during the game.
