Accessible viewing area - Barangaroo

Barangaroo is a great location for families to watch the spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks. It features excellent views of Balmain, Goat Island, Balls Head Point and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The site is suitable for people with a range of access requirements.

Site description

·  The site slopes up to the south.

·  An accessible area is located close to the top of the slope (which is relatively flat) and provides a view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

·  Facilities and services are located slightly uphill from the accessible area. This is an easy/medium difficulty.

·  No shade – bring a hat, sunscreen, rain jacket or umbrella

·  No seating – you may bring your own fold up chairs

Site access

Entry to the site is via Gate H5, Hickson Road, Barangaroo. The site opens at 6pm on 31 December and closes at 12.30am on 1 January.

You must book the accessible viewing area in advance by contacting ey. Your booking is non-transferable and accessibility criteria will apply.

Getting there

Public transport

·  This is the best way to get around on New Year’s Eve.

·  Circular Quay train station is about 10-minute walk on a relatively flat path. Note that trains will not stop at Circular Quay station between 6pm on 31 December and 1am on 1 January. However accessibility guests are permitted to exit the train at this station. Please contact Paul Nunnari for more information.

·  Wynyard station is about a 10-minute walk with a moderate/high gradient incline and decline.

Driving and parking

Taxis are in high demand on New Year’s Eve, so please book in advance.
