Collegiate 4-H Meeting Minutes

March 9th, 2017

WSLR 116, 6:00 p.m.

Call to order and Welcome: Gabrielle Teter,

Pledges:

  • Pledge of Allegiance - Carley Bennett
  • 4-H Pledge- Ashley Thurman

Secretary Report – Sara Holderbaum,

Treasurer Report – Abby Hunnicutt,

  • Dues are $10 for the semester. Checks made to Purdue Collegiate 4-H.
  • Current Balance: $3005.13

Nano Bot Demonstration – Alexis Pearson

  • Looked at the nano bots, make sure they all work
  • Students will make a path of popcicle sticks and straws for the nano bots to move along
  • Allow students to be creative

Banquet – Thomas Ault,

  • April 20, Food Science Building
  • Work springfest
  • 1 shift = half banquet cost
  • 2 shifts = banquet cost covered and 1 point achievment trip
  • General cost $10
  • Fazolli’s
  • Officers bring desserts
  • You are allowed to bring guests

Officer Elections – Gabrielle Teter,

  • April 6th Meeting
  • Will have intent to run forms available soon!
  • Contact Cassie Lehmann, , with questions!

Achievement Trip – Morgan Ritzi,

  • Must have 3 points, and be a dues paying member, to be eligible for the trip. Points are awarded as follows:
  • 1 pt. per Murdock
  • 2 pts. per Officer Training
  • 1 pt. for participation in the Thank-a-Thon
  • 1 pt. for working a 2nd shift at Spring Fest
  • 1 pt. for working an Ag Week shift
  • 1 pt. for being on a Conference Committee
  • Itinerary
  • Leave at 7am
  • Donuts for breakfast
  • Botanical garde
  • Lunch = pizza provided
  • Leave at 2:00
  • Back around 4:30ish depending on traffic

Regional Collegiate 4-H Conference – Kendall Gatewood,

  • Sign up for a committee!!! Contact committee heads if you are interested!
  • Sponsorship Committee – Sara
  • Purdue Ag Alumni Association grant will be applied for
  • Fundraiser at Spring Fest
  • Contact local businesses for sponsorships
  • Sessions and Speakers, Carley Bennett,
  • Met with Barry Delks and putting together speaker list
  • Detail Committee Head - Molly Towns,
  • Community Service Committee Head - Caitlyn Tuholski,

State Horse Bowl– Emily Grimm,

  • March 25th at 10 AM – would read questions for Horse Bowl contest, no horse knowledge required!

Murdock – Morgan Ritzi, & Caitlyn Tuholski,

  • Wednesday afternoons, meet at 2:35, program 3-4 p.m.
  • Next meeting – origami flowers
  • Let Morgan know if you have any ideas for crafts, even if you can’t come

Intramurals – Thomas Ault,

  • Sand Volleyball is on Wednesdays at 8:15. Could use more male players!
  • Wednesday evenings at Pickett Park
  • Next game: Wednesday after we get back at 8:15
  • Must be a dues playing member to participate

Ag Council Report– Molly Towns,

  • Ag Council Food Drive motion to participate – passed
  • Members bring in nonperishable food for Food Finder’s Food Bank
  • Bring food into the April 6 meeting

Ag Week Report – Molly Towns,

  • Task Force committee meeting at 7:00 pm tonight!
  • Received a grant for $635.85 for this event!
  • Ag Week Committee Meeting after this meeting

Spring Fest – Gabrielle Teter,

  • April 8-9, tent in front of AGAD
  • Committee sign up available tonight – Goldfish Racing and Nano-bugs
  • Nano-bug demonstration by Alexis Pearson

Officer Trainings – Kendall Gatewood,

  • Johnson County – March 9th
  • Reports from previous trainings

Skip a Meal – Abigail Hunnicutt,

  • April 6th at Panera Bread
  • Will go as a club after the meeting that day!
