TEA MARKET REPORT - Sale 07 Held on Tuesday 6th June, 2017

CTC LEAF: 21,502 packages and 308 packages of Old Season Teas on offer met with a stronger demand.

BROKENS: All good liquoring Brokens were again a strong market and were dearer by Tk.7/- to Tk.12/- . following quality. Mediums also followed a similar trend. Plainer types were mostly firm with some withdrawals. Poorer sorts were mostly neglected.

FANNINGS: Good liquoring Fannings continued to be a strong feature of the sale and were dearer following competition. All others were also a strong market and were dearer by upto Tk.10/- and often more. Plainest sorts were easier with some withdrawals.

CTC DUST: 3,907 packages and 17 packages of Old Season Teas on offer met with a good demand. Select brighter liquoring teas and all CDs sold around last levels. The remainder met with a fair demand at slightly easier rates with a few withdrawals. Blenders lent good support with fair interest from the Loose tea buyers.

COMMENTS: Offerings comprised of generally an improved quality which were readily absorbed by all sections of the market particularly the Blenders who operated very strongly for these types. There was some enquiry from Loose tea buyers.

Good liquoring Dusts were a bright feature of the sale.

KOLKATA SALE N9. 22 DATED 30th & 31st MAY, 2017

CTC Leaf: There was good demand for select brighter liquoring Assams which sold around last levels. The remainder met with fair demand at irregularly easier rates. Browner and plainer liquoring sorts met with some withdrawals due to want of bids.
