Method: students will review complete sentences and two components of sentence using wksh pg 76. Teacher explains clause & phrase using examples on board and wksh pg 88
Assign: wksh 89 and 90
Assess: class discussion measures understanding.
Standard: all the 12.2’2 / Obj: students enhance understanding of organization
Method: students will do shark activity from packet. Students write story using picture books. Students will share their stories.
Assess: students stories will illustrate understanding of organization. / Obj: students will reveiw understanding of chapter 1 concepts.
Method: use class time to do review worksheet – teacher is available to answer questions and clarify info.

Method; verbally review clauses. Point out that independent clause is simple sentence. Use wksh 75 & 110 to enhance understanding.
Assign: write 5 of own simple and 5 compound identifying sentence parts. Need 1 question, preposition & adv sentence.
Assess: discussion and wksh 75/110 measure understanding / Obj: students will reinforce organization.
Method: students will write story about “what do you do when you swallow a bug?” Students use class time to work on this story. Students make sure they have a lead and conclusion.

Method: define idea with ppt and stories (Mouse alert & Haircut from hell). Students rate each example justifying rating. Tell vs show examples

Method: students share assignment. Students will write about their room/favorite place focusing on ideas. Share writing with another person and rank – can they see the room/favorite place? / Obj: students will explore how confidence pertains/benefits in everyday life.
Method: finish ppt notes. Students will write three statements – on of them is false. Students partner up and read statements – can they figure which ones are t/f? Students learn to believe in what they say
Assign:: pg 7 of PBA – interview coach/counselor/principal about confidence tactics. / Obj: students will explore adj and adv.
Method: orally discuss/define difference between adj and adv using pg 106, 115, 121. Teacher will start these worksheets and students will group to finish them.

Assign: write a story based on an ideas produced by the popcorn. Include specific details.
Assess: story will demonstrate understanding of ideas / Obj: Students will grasp understanding of confidence tactics.
Method: Students share some interview results and draw conclusions. With partner do pg 1-2, 4-7 in TRB as review for quiz.
