NPHC minutes: September 21, 2016

Call to order: The meeting was called to order at 3:11pm

Reading, Motion & adoption of the Agenda:

Kappa Alpha Psi motions to adopt agenda and minutes as printed, Alpha Kappa Alpha seconds; all are in favor

Report of officers:

1. Vice President of Administration

  1. Budget: was $4000.00 Allocated; $We are Broke Agency (budget under construction)
  2. NTR

2. Vice President of Programs

  1. Green Dot race on 9.30.16. Asking for more participation. Teams 6-8 people per.

3. President

  1. How do we as a council feel about meeting every week. Council does agree that weekly meetings are beneficial.

Chapter Reports:

*Alpha Phi Alpha:continued Alpha cares mentoring at Bale elementary. Preparing for Miss Black and Gold pageant; sign up next week wed-fri. Participating in campus wide voter registration.

*Alpha Kappa Alpha:Attended Undergraduate round up in Houston, Tx. Beta Pi Omega September Broadway Bridge project partnership. Pageant informational 9.26.

*Kappa Alpha Psi: Kappa week events are successful. Voter registration table, registered about 40 people to vote. Ice cream social with Mu Kappa, Study session, Shimmy Like A Nupe, Basketball game with Beta Tau Chapter, Community service at Children’s Hospital.

*Omega Psi Phi:Supported Kappa Alpha Psi kickoff. Hosting UALR homecoming 10.12, stepping in ASU step show on 10.15 and SAU step show 10.1.

*Delta Sigma Theta:Our House Health & Wellness day volunteering. “Who You With” voter education program with NAACP, Hope credit union, Phi Beta Sigma, Zeta Phi Beta, Ice cream social with Theta Epsilon 9.21. Fashion show casting on 9.19 & 9.23 5-7 pm. Attended presidents council meeting.

*Phi Beta Sigma:Supported Kappa kick off. Attended president’s council meeting. Interest meeting tomorrow. Regional conference and Conclave coming up. Continued partnership with My Brother’s Keeper and math tutoring.Attending HSU greek show and UAPB Sigma weekend. Tailgate with grad chapter this weekend. Voter education program with Mu Kappa.

*Zeta Phi Beta:Absent

*Sigma Gamma Rho:Meet and greet and Information table 9.15. Volunteered at Cavalier Health Care on 9.11. 9.23 Black Lives Matter in the media at Philander Smith. JSU homecoming 9.28.16. Thank you Mu Kappa and Kappa Psi for donations at Jason’s Deli.
