Proposal Summary / Purpose is to introduce students to basic concepts of police duties, including crime scene investigation, search and seizure, and crime prevention.
Need for the proposal / This course is part of the CP and AS in Criminal Justice and Corrections. The Department of Corrections at Calico Rock believes they will hire 50 to 100 new employees in the next three to five years. This does not account for any retirees or any positions open at Newport or county facilities. In addition, the warden at the Department of Corrections at Calico Rock has been very supportive of this program. Three local high schools offer courses in the field so they will serve as feeder schools for this course and program.
