University Checklist
October/November / December / January-March / April/May / JuneCSU & UC Applications due November 30th

Work on personal statements as needed
Clean up Facebook, Instagram, Twitter pages, adjust security settings; set up special college email address
Make folder for passwords and pins
Follow up with teachers or counselors on recommendation letters
Check applications before submitting, print copies. Have someone proofread essays
Take SAT, SAT Subject Tests, ACT as required
Check/Setup College Portals: Write down usernames & passwords on “College Accounts” sheet
Look at college scholarships
Student athletes register for NCAA: & send official transcripts
Create a FSA ID
Check college email address/portal regularly! / Talk to parents about finances; encourage them to do taxes early
Begin working on Community Scholarship Portfolio(CSP)- see counseling website
Get letters of recommendation for CSP and other scholarships
Application deadlines for most private colleges and universities

Check college email address/portal regularly!

February 5th– Community Scholarship Portfolio due
Work on/complete FAFSA: by March 2nd
Work on/complete California Dream Act by March 2nd
March 2nd – Financial Aid application and CA Dream Act deadline
CSU bound students should register for English & Math placement test, unless exempt (EPT & ELM )
Most Colleges/Universities will be sending acceptance letters
Check college portal/email for housing information
Communicate with counselors
Check college email address/portal regularly! / Look up your FAFSA award letter. This can help you decide which college to attend.
April 29th – Submit copy of college/university acceptance letter to Counseling Center
May 1st – Need to notify university if you are attending. Student Intent to Register (SIR)/Intent to Enroll
Update FAFSA and CA Dream Act, if needed
Submit copies of scholarship awards to Tiger’s Den (used for Scholarship Night)
Attend University 101
Check college email address/portal regularly! / Submit official transcript to colleges/universities by June 29th(request at Registrar, Room 118)
Student athletes submit official transcripts to NCAA (request at Registrar, Room 118)
AB 540 students- Complete college affidavit
