UNIT:The Truth and Nothing but the Truth

UNIT OVERVIEW: This unit focuses on the concept of truth and perspective, and requires students to analyse and evaluate the actions of a main character from the play The Crucible.

ASSESSMENT: Legal Summation (Spoken) Students will be required to develop the prosecution or defence summation for one of the main characters, justifying their arguments with pertinent evidence from the play and persuasive techniques.

LEARING GOAL / SUCCESS CRITERIA
a) To investigate and summarise background information about the setting and Arthur Miller’s motivation for writing “The Crucible”.
