JOB PURPOSE: To assist in the efficient day to day cleaning of Ratcliffe College, maintaining a high level of cleanliness in both staff and student areas.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

To complete to high level of effectiveness the cleaning schedule as provided by the Housekeeper and directed by the Evening Supervisor or Housekeeper:

  • The cleaning of all floors, walls, furniture, furnishings, fittings, glassware and replacement of bed linen as required.
  • Emptying of waste-paper bins as necessary.
  • Clean as required, all toilets, washbasins, ablution areas and all associated fixtures and fittings. Restock toilet areas as required with clean towels, toilet rolls, paper towelling, soaps and such ancillary equipment.
  • Clean inside windows within current Health and Safety guidelines not exceeding 2m in height.
  • To be responsible for the safe and proper completion of each task ensuring that all Health and Safety and Environmental Health Regulations are fully observed and in particular that the requirement of “due diligence” is understood and complied with at all times.
  • To work to the policies and procedures of RatcliffeCollege.
  • To clean any areas not listed above as directed by the Evening Supervisor or Housekeeper.
  • To undertake any other duties that may be necessary from time to time to ensure the efficient running of the College.

Ratcliffe College is an independent Roman Catholic day and boarding school founded in 1847. It is located just off the A46 at Ratcliffe on the Wreake and is situated in beautiful grounds. With over 800 students ranging from age 3 to age 18, the House Department is a very busy one, playing a key role in the life of the School.

The School employs over 200 staff and whilst being a highly successful organisation maintains a friendly “family” culture.

Hours of Work:Monday to Friday, 5.00am to 8.00am

Over 52 weeks or 34 weeks

Rate of Pay:£7.50 per hour

Holidays:5.6 weeks holidays per yearpro rata (included in annual salary payment)
