Role Purpose:
  • Working in partnership to support both the internal and external programme team in the planning, consultation and implementation of the Joint Investment Strategy ‘Construction Futures Wales’ project office by undertaking a full range of duties to ensure a successful programme delivery

Role Accountabilities:
  • Monitor performance against programme deliverables, including quality standards, issuing and monitoring action plans agreed with the internal and external Programme Managers and reporting programme manager
  • Ensure the agreement is managed in line with funding requirements to the agreed output levels and/or volumes and to an appropriate and agreed quality (including any auditrequirements)
  • Identify, monitor and manage risk associated with agreementsensuring appropriate business controls, continuity and contingency plans are in place.
  • Coordinate roles and responsibilities with internal strategy and delivery teams to ensure they are clear and maintained.
  • Arrange and attend regular programme review meetings with partners and consultantsto ensure the contract is progressing to plan
  • Understand financial systems and process to ensure funding criteria and contracts are met to enable accurate management information reporting (to include performance, quality and financial matters)
  • Develop appropriate methods of communication for internal and external stakeholders to ensure understanding and buy-in in order to deliver programme requirements as well as to highlight business opportunities
  • Understand financial agreement ensuring appropriate and accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Assist internal teams achieve their annual targets by passingon leads and referrals.
  • Use Customer Database to record all interventions with companies
  • Coordinate the support from external partners to the programme.
  • To work closely with the Strategy & Delivery teams to ensure maximum sharing of best practice.
  • Continually strive to improve knowledge and capability of programme management, adopting disciplines and controls to ensure successful delivery of JIS ‘Construction Futures Wales’ programme
  • Support programme steering group by preparing and sending to relevant parties, agenda, financial information, performance data/information and any ongoing action plans to discuss at the meeting/briefing session.
  • Monitor any actions from meetings and ensure if any ongoing action plans are issued the actions are being addressed and completed
  • To work with internal and external Proagmme team and lead on all aspects of programme launch..
  • To ensure maximum PR coverage is gained from Joint Investment Strategy ‘Construction Futures Wales’ projects in their area and to work closely with PR/PA agencies to provide case studies, highlight good will stories and successful events associated with the programme.
  • Working with Sector Strategy Team to ensure effective employer and stakeholder support to Regional Fora through attendance and contribution to project performance.

Business Impact:
  • The role reports to the JIS Programme Manager, whom in turn reports to the Sector Strategy Manager Wales, whom in turn reports to ConstructionSkills Wales Director, whom in turn reports to the Employer Services Director.

  • Produce, review and revise programme plans in order to deliver contract obligations.
