Your responses will be used to modify Lowell’s current Flex-K process and may be shared with other parents, Lowell staff, and other teachers/staff who are considering implementing Flexible Kindergarten elsewhere in the district. We truly value your response!

The Flexible Placement Mission:
In order to create balanced classrooms at the kindergarten level, Lowell kindergarten teachers implement a Flexible Kindergarten Placement system. During the first few days of kindergarten, teachers work together to get to know each child, how each child learns, and how each child interacts socially. These teacher observations, along with the kindergarten screener and parent feedback assist us with creating successful learning communities for all kindergartners. Placements are tentatively made during the first week(s) of school and are finalized shortly after the third Friday of the academic year.
