PART II – PRODUCTS

2.01MANUFACTURER

Security Entrance Portal Model - TAP 150 shall be manufactured for Boon Edam, Inc. as an exclusive distributor of Alluser products.

2.02DOOR CONSTRUCTION

  1. The interlocking door system equipment shall be comprised of two curved sliding door leaves within a glazed drum.
  2. The curved door leaves shall be constructed with laminated glass as a standard.

2.03EQUIPMENT

  1. Operator: shall be mounted and concealed within the header. Operating force shall be accomplished through two1/8 HP, 24VDC motors with 260 RPM working with a left and right trolley arm kit and cabin trolley shaft made of induction hardened steel; a solid-state master controller mother board; integral trolley stroke end kit and motor potentiometer kit. The operator shall fail-secure when power is removed.
  2. Solid-State Voice Synthesis Circuit: shall be provided. Tape recorded messages shall not be accepted.
  3. Emergency Release Device: Shall be located inside header and when manually operated, unit reverts to free manual operation (likewise during electrical power failure). The non-secure side door shall be the only door affected by this device.
  4. Integral Battery Back-up: The unit shall accommodate battery back-up to maintain continuous use for up to 2 hours.

2.04OPERATION

A.Operation: The unit shall incorporate interlocking door leaves to make certain security is maintained and a clear opening is never presented. In normal operation, the unit shall always keep the non-secure side door leaf closed and the secure side door leaf locked to maintain optimum security. The first door shall be activated by means of depressing a button and or an integrated device (supplied by the access control contractor) on both sides of the cabin. The person requesting entry shall enter the cabin and shall not be granted further passage until the internal security system confirms security criteria are met and that only one person has entered the cabin. The second door shall open immediately once the person has been authorized. In the event that any of the security sensors are activated, an alarm shall sound at the security guard post and the unit shall prevent further progress.

2.05SECURITY FUNCTION

A. Access Control: The portal shall accommodate electronic access control card readers and biometric devices (supplied by others) to allow authorized passage. Optional identity verification access control devices can be mounted inside the portal in an optional alcove. A special mounting bracket concealed behind a protective Lexan lid shall accommodate the installation of the optional internal access control device. After the optional internal access control device authorizes passage, the interior portal door will open into the secured area. Any attempt of unauthorized passage shall result in the interior secure side door not opening. A solid-state voice annunciator shall advise the individual of the infraction and advise them to exit the cabin. The exterior (first) door can then be opened to allow the individual to exit the cabin.

B. A.P.D Anti-Piggybacking Detection: The A.P.D. is an ultrasonic sensor system that scans the interior of the cabin and determines if more than one person is attempting passage. If piggybacking is detected, the passage is not authorized and the individuals must exit the cabin through the exterior (first) door as described in 2.05.A above.

C. Attempted Passage:Any attempt of passage by unauthorized individuals into the controlled area shall prevent the interior secure side door from opening and a solid state voice annunciator shall advise the person who committed the infraction to exit the cabin. Systems consisting of pre-recorded tape messages shall not be accepted. The exterior door shall unlock allowing the person to exit the cabin on the ingress side.

D.Metal Detection: Available option. CEIA model 02PN8 Metal Detector. It is extremely important that the structure of the portal is well fixed for metal detector applications; structure vibrations can create field metal detector variations. The metal detector is configured to the NileCJ/STG/0601AM7 setting (e.g. Beretta Model 950 B Calibre 6.35 in light alloy).

2.06 SAFETY

  1. Emergency Door Control:The unit shall be equipped with a manual release for opening the exterior non- secure door in the event of mechanical failure or emergency. The manual release shall be located inside the cabin and clearly marked with a red handle. Activating this device shall not allow the interior secure door to be opened and shall render the unit ineffective until the handle is returned to the normal position.
  2. Intercom: The unit shall include an intercom as a standard feature. Communication between the person inside the cabin and the intercom master station shall be accomplished by depressing a single button on the intercom located inside the cabin. The intercom shall be an integral part of the Control Panel and shall function even when the control panel is switched off. An optional intercom can be added to facilitate remote monitoring of the cabin.
  3. Dry Contact Input: The unit shall supply a set of contacts which, when activated by the building's fire detection or suppression systems, both doors shall open immediate.
