Program of Work 2016-2017

OBJECTIVE I.Develop new DECA Chapters

DATE: September 2016 – June 2017

WHO:Christopher Tejada, Central Region Vice President;Nicholas Gentile, State President; Julia Tze, Northern Region Vice President; Margaret McCurdy, Southern Region Vice President; William Roberts, Recording Secretary; Rebecca Bright, Vice President of Public Relations; Lindsey Bertone, Vice President of Media.

GOALS:

  1. Establish 10 New DECA Chapters in New Jersey.
  2. Develop strategies with state and chapter officers to increase membership
  3. Promote new membership

PROCEDURES:

  1. Visit local schools that wish to establish a DECA chapterand present the “Let’s Talk About DECA” presentation.
  2. Promote new membership through the NJ DECA and my personal social media accounts
  3. Contact Chapter Officers to discuss strategies on how to increase membership.
  4. Use and improve the NJ DECA Social Correspondent Program to serve as advocates.

OBJECTIVE II. Increase Membership and Membership Involvement.

WHO:Christopher Tejada, Central Region Vice President; Nicholas Gentile, State President; Julia Tze, Northern Region Vice President; Margaret McCurdy, Southern Region Vice President; William Roberts, Recording Secretary; Rebecca Bright, Vice President of Public Relations; Lindsey Bertone, Vice President of Media.

GOALS:

  1. Increase Membership by 5%.
  2. Award and Recognize members and chapters for their accomplishments.
  3. Improve New Jersey DECA Social Media Correspondent Program.
  4. Hold Regional Chapter Officer Summit.

PROCEDURES:

  1. Use NJ DECA and Personal social media to promote membership
  2. Create activities for members to participate in during regional and state conferences as well ass in between conferences.
  3. Allow members to submit articles to be published on the New Jersey DECA website.
  4. Recognize outstanding members and chapters through social media.
  5. Host monthly Google Hangouts for members to participate in.
  6. Open applications for members who would like to participate as a Social Media Correspondent.
  7. Allow chapters to send their chapter officers to the Chapter Officer Summit in their respective region.

OBJECTIVE III. Increase communication with the Central Region.

DATE:September2016 – June 2017

WHO:Christopher Tejada, Central Region Vice President; Lindsey Bertone, Vice President of Media; Memberswithin the Central Region.

GOALS:

  1. Increase involvement with Chapter activities in the Central Region.
  2. Meet with Chapter Officers from the Central Region.
  3. Create efficient ways to communicate with Chapter Officers and Members from the Central Region.

PROCEDURES:

  1. Attend Central Region chapters’ fundraisers and special activities.
  2. Create a GroupMe with the Chapter Presidents within the Central Region.
  3. Contact Chapter Advisors and Officers to get information about their upcoming activities.
  4. Meet with Chapter Officers at Central Region Chapter Officer Summit.
  5. Create a newsletter specifically for the Central Region that contains important information and upcoming plans.

OBJECTIVE IV. Act as the Central Region Vice President of New Jersey DECA.

DATE: June 2016 – June 2017

WHO:Christopher Tejada, Central Region Vice President; All New Jersey DECA Members.

GOALS:

  1. Successfully lead New Jersey DECA, specifically the Central Region.
  2. Keep members engaged throughout the year.

PROCEDURES:

  1. Attend Central Region Conferences, State Conferences, and the International Career Development Conference.
  2. Attend the Central Region Advisory Meetings.
  3. Conduct myself in a professional manner at all times and respectively represent New Jersey DECA.
  4. Encourage members to do their best.
  5. Host monthly Google Hangouts for Members to participate in.
  6. Successfully accomplish all of the goals set as the Central Region Vice President.
