JAGUARS 44

STEELERS 12

The trip North on I-35 turned out to be a good one for the Jaguar’s Flag Football team. The Steelers put their best effort forward and played admirably with a very young team. Once the boys got past the awe of being on an actual High School Stadium field with turf, they decided to start playing football. The fans showed up and brought plenty of support for the boys, which was very much appreciated and noticed.

The day belonged to the Jaguar’s Offense this week as the team managed to score on every possession with a lot of help from some great blocking up front. Many of the changes made on the offensive line from previous weeks paid off and all of the boys got a chance to step in and play a role in at least one scoring drive. The Jaguar’s managed to have five different players score touchdowns on a variety of plays. The passing game looked better than it has all year and so did the inside running game. The boys definitely took to the turf field and enjoyed running on it once the initial shock wore off.

The Jaguar’s Defense started off a little slow as we tried some players in different positions but quickly got it together to shut the Steelers out the entire second half. The inside rush was present all day long and only a few missed flags allowed the Steelers to get around the corner on a couple of occasions. The defense showed at the end of the day why they are the backbone of this Jaguar’s team as they continue to grow and develop with a lot of young players who will only improve in time.

Next week the Jaguars face another district opponent on the road in the Jr Thunderbirds. This will be another tough district game and vital to the Jaguar’s playoff seeding this year. We really need the fans and players to show up with the intensity and energy to take control of the game from the start and watch the defense do their thing. It’s another JUNGLE ROAD TRIP, which has proven to be a friend of the Jaguars this year. The flag team is 3-0 when we take the JUNGLE on the road this year, let’s make it 4-0.

BRING THE JUNGLE SPIRIT!!!
