About the Sandgate Sunset Run

The Sandgate Sunset Run is the most unique event on Brisbane’s running calendar. On Saturday 10 October 2015, teams of runners and walkers will do laps of the iconic Sandgate roundabout for 2 hours, while a community festival will add to the atmosphere. For the first time, this year will also feature a Junior Relay and Kids’ Dash.

It’s all about promoting health and fitness, celebrating the heart of Sandgate, capturing the community atmosphere and running for a great cause.

The inaugural event is raising money for local charity Be Uplifted Inc to support their work with women affected by breast cancer and their families.

The Sandgate Sunset Run is a not-for-profit event, run by a committee of volunteers.

We anticipate a crowd of between 1000-2000 people throughout the evening, as well as 100 teams in the Open Relay, 50 in the Junior Relay and dozens of children in the Kids Dash. It will be a family event, with free kids’ entertainment provided.

Information for potential stall holders

-  the event is being held on Saturday 10th October, 2015, from 4pm – 10pm

-  roads leading into the Sandgate roundabout will be closed to traffic

-  bump-in will happen in waves, beginning from 2pm

-  all vehicles must be out of the festival area by 3:30pm

-  barricades will separate runners on the course from spectators in the festival area

-  stall prices are $40 for community/non-profit groups and $100 for other stall holders

-  there are a limited number of stall sites, so please return your request promptly with payment to secure your location

-  we will use our discretion to make sure there are not stalls selling the same or similar items, or at least make sure they are not located near each other

-  cancellation of stalls prior to September 12th 2015 will receive a 50% refund of stall fees. No refunds for stalls cancelled from September 13th 2015 onwards

-  as the event runs into night time, we will have flood lights in the area - you may require a lamp or other lighting option for your stall as well

-  you will need your own tent/shelter and table

-  a generator WILL BE PROVIDED – there is no need to bring your own

Public Liability Insurance

The Sandgate Sunset Run has public liability coverage for its events and activities, but this does not extend to stalls. You must provide public liability coverage for your own stall. Please send us a copy of your public liability insurance cover note with your payment.

Food Stalls
Food Stalls must comply with the food standards code. Please remember to apply for a temporary food stall permit from the Brisbane City Council. Forms are available from the Council’s Chermside Business Centre in Gympie Road (opposite the Tax Office), the Call Centre on 3403 8888, or via the website at www.brisbane.qld.gov.au. Council food inspectors may be in attendance on the day to ensure food stalls comply with the regulations.

Terms & Conditions:

1.  Stallholders agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

2.  Sandgate Sunset Run Association Inc., at its absolute discretion, reserves the right to refuse entry to any stallholder, good, product, produce and / or service.

3.  Site allocation will be at the discretion of the Festival Stalls Coordinator.

4.  Stallholders will act in accordance with directions of the Festival Stalls Coordinator and assistants.

5.  Sandgate Sunset Run Association Inc., its officers and volunteers accepts no responsibility for damage or loss sustained by participating stallholders.

6.  All Stallholders are responsible for securing their stalls and items in and around the stall, and this may include protection against the elements, or additional weights at each leg of the stall itself. Failure to safely secure the stall and items in and around the stall could result in the stallholder being asked to leave the site by the Festival Stalls Coordinator. If an incident occurs as a result of a stallholder not complying with this condition, the stallholder will be solely responsible and will be liable for any compensation sought by any person and /or entity in regards to loss or damage arising from and / or sustained by a person or entity as a result, directly or indirectly, partially or wholly, of the said incident. The stallholder will indemnify Sandgate Sunset Run Association Inc., its officeholders and volunteers against any such liability arising from the said incident.

7.  All rubbish generated by the stallholder, its officers, employees, customers or potential customers, on the day of the Festival, is the stallholder’s sole responsibility to remove at the close of the Festival. Additional bins are provided onsite to assist stallholders with their clean-up.

8.  The event trading hours are Saturday 10th October, 4pm-8pm.

9.  Cancellations: a 50% refund will apply up until 12th September 2015. If a stallholder wishes to cancel their application after this date they will forfeit 100% of their stall fee. Should the event be cancelled due to unforseen circumstances, refunds will not be given.

10. The Stallholder discharges and indemnifies the Sandgate Sunset Run Association Inc. and its officeholders and / or volunteers from and against any claim by the stallholder, any employees or volunteers of the stallholder and / or by a third party, which may be brought against or made upon or incurred by any of them in connection with:

·  The operation of a market

·  The sale or attempted sale of any goods, products or services by the stallholder, its officers, employees or volunteers.

·  Injury or harm caused to any property or person as a direct or indirect consequence, in whole or part, of any act or omission by the stallholder, its officers, employees and / or volunteers, including loss or damage to the goods, products and / or property of the stallholder, its officers, employees and / or volunteers regardless of the cause of that loss or damage.

·  The death or injury of any person as a consequence in whole or part, of any act or omission by the stallholder, its officers or employees.

·  Loss or damage caused by a negligent or unlawful act or omission of the stallholder, its officers or employees.

·  Infringement of the intellectual property rights of any third party by the stallholder, its officer or employees.

9.  It is compulsory for all stallholders to hold Public Liability Insurance for their stall. Successful applicants must provide a copy of their current Public Liability Insurance policy, valid during the dates of the Festival. Please be aware!! if you cannot obtain Public Liability Insurance you will lose your site.

10.  Food stallholders must have the appropriate Temporary Food Permit. A copy must be provided to the Stalls Coordinator. Please be aware!! if you cannot obtain a temporary food permit you will lose your site.

11.  Stallholders must have their stalls set up prior to 4:00pm, with vehicles removed from the site by 3:30pm. Vehicles cannot re-enter the site until the run ends at 8:00pm.
