18th to 25th September 2016 – Tirrenia (Pisa), Italy

It is my great pleasure to invite you to the 8th Showdown European Championship 2016 which will be held in Italy. I assure you that we will do our utmost to satisfy your expectations and desires.

Italy is a country rooted in human and social values that are the basis of a healthy society. Especially international sport events, which we are delegated to organize, remind me of that. Sport is a universal activity able to break down country borders, languages barriers and differences among people.

EC Playing System

As specified in the EC Playing System for Showdown 2014 – 2017, 32 Gentlemen and 24 Ladies are allowed to compete in this year’s European Championship.

Starting places allocation according to the current country ranking (Co-Efficient for IBSA European Championship 2016):

If the number of countries does not reach 32 players (Gentlemen) and 24 players (Ladies), best missing players of yearly ranking should be given a “wild card” according to the current ranking of best players on 15.06.2016.

Please register until 15.06.2016! All unused starting places are going to be assigned to other countries strictly following the IBSA Ranking List.

Countries are allowed to register additional players to reach the required number of players to take part in the team competition (Triple). Of course, these additional players are not allowed to compete in the gentlemen and ladies Championship.

Optional training on Monday 19th

Please indicate in the entry form whether we should reserve a training slot for you on Monday 19th. In addition, inform us about any special wishes for the training. We try to take all your wishes in consideration. Once collected all training requests, you will get the time schedule.

Early arrival on Sunday 18th is optional, combined with the option to an extended training on Monday 19th. Regular arrival is scheduled for Monday 19th. Classifications will take place on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st. Please arrive as early as possible. The Championship end on Sunday 25th after breakfast.

The basic fee is 100 Euros a day, hence 700 Euros for early arrival (on the 18th) and 600 Euros for regular arrival (on the 19th). Accommodation will be in double or triple rooms depending of the number of registered participant within your delegation. There is also available a limited number of single rooms, for which we have to charge a single occupancy supplement of 30 Euros a day. Please indicate possible whishes concerning the accommodation in the registration form.

In addition to the registration fees, we have to collect the IBSA fee of 25 Euros for each participating player.

The participation fees include full pension, water and house wine during the meals free of charge and free sunshade and deckchair on the hotel-owned private beach. Also included is a free shuttle service from Pisa International Airport or Pisa rail station (there and back).

After having received your entry from, we are going to reply the confirmation of registration together with the totaled up payable amount of fees. Please pay the fees until 15.07.2016.
