MTSC 7th Annual Lancaster Summer Classic
June 4th – 5th, 2016
Dear MTSC Families,
Preparations for the 7th Annual2016Lancaster Summer Classic are well underway. Last year our
Tournamentexceeded expectations and gained exposure to clubs outside of our immediate region.
MTSCexpects to grow the tournament this year with the addition of our tournament partner Crossbar Soccer which we expect will help us draw top competition from West Virginia to New York.
Additionally, we are counting on our Team Representatives to spread the word by sending personalized invitations to quality teams they would like to see at our tournament.
This tournament is very important to MTSC. All of our MTSC families will be able to play a role in the success of the tournament.
First: All MTSC teams are required to participate in the tournament. There is no charge to the MTSC teams for entrance into this tournament. Please mark the dates on your calendar!
Second: All MTSC teams will be required to provide volunteers to the tournament in areas such as concessions, field marshals, parking, etc.
Third: Sponsorships. MTSC has applied for 501(c)3 Not for Profit organization. This means that all donations are tax deductible. New this year, families that solicit a sponsorship/donation will receive 20% of the sponsorship/donation total to be applied to your player fee. There are many, many types of tournament sponsorships and advertisements. You can find them on Lancaster Summer Classic page of the MTSC website on the Sponsorships tab AND you will be receiving an e-mail from last year’s Tournament Representative with the documents as an attachment.

WHO?
The aim of the Manheim Township Soccer Club is to develop well-balanced, successful individuals who desire and are capable of making a real contribution in a team environment. We promote an appreciation for the sport by providing progressively higher levels of competition within a supportive teaching environment.
Our purpose is to instill in our youth players a sense of enthusiasm, self-confidence and teamwork by emphasizing the game's basic fundamentals and providing a more competitive level of play. We develop our players as "students of the game", reinforcing more advanced technical skills, tactical awareness, physical conditioning and sportsmanship by providing more advanced coaching. We endeavor to develop our members into outstanding players, student-athletes and team players who will exceed in high school and higher-level soccer programs.
WHAT?
The 7th Annual Lancaster Summer Classic, held on June 4-5th, is our annual tournament that brings together ~80 teams from the PA/MD/DE region to compete at a high level at the incredible Manheim Township facilities in Lancaster County (Foundation Fields at Overlook Park, Manheim Township High School, Weaver Road Complex).
WHY?
The success of this annual tournament is critical to the MTSC and our community as it helps to fund the Recreational program (~600 players annually), the Elite program (~300 players annually), the costs associated with travel, uniforms, training gear, equipment, coaching, the Overlook Foundation Fields and our annual scholarship to each a deserving male and female high school senior.
Youth Soccer tournaments are economically attractive to sponsors:
- Youth soccer tournaments bring in > 2 people per athlete.
- Our tournament caters to “travel teams” creating a captive audience giving the opportunity to capture new business.
- A high % of tourney families pay for some form of accommodation (hotel, restaurant, grocery, gas, entertainment)
- Youth tournaments can serve as a gateway event for future economic activity
- Ensure that your business is visible to hundreds of potential customers.
- Investment in the Manheim Township Soccer Club is important the citizenship of your community.
