DECATUR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

September 2, 2008

The Decatur County Commissioners opened their September 2nd meeting with following present: John Richards, President, Charles Buell, Jerome Buening and Bridgett Weber-Auditor.

The August 18th meeting minutes were approved as corrected.

Mark Mohr- Highway Department provided LPA Voucher for Bridge #115 and 190 to be sent to INDOT for reimbursement. Mr. Buell moved to sign LPA Voucher, Mr. Buening seconded and Mr. Richards concurred. Mr. Mohr also provided updated information on Bridge #131 for the decking and painting. Mr. Buening moved to do the work as quoted, Mr. Buell seconded and Mr. Richards concurred. Chip and seal program has started with the full width box in place and looks good. INDOT wants a letter from the Commissioners to reinstate Aecon for the bridge inspections on bridges damaged by flooding.

Tom Robbins provided the Commissioners information on the property in Clarksburg that was reported at the August 18th meeting from Marshall Cameron. Mr. Robbins is doing the work that needs to be done to clean up this property. Mr. Robbins asked the Commissioners for 60 days extra time to finish the clean up and Mr. Richards suggested speaking with Mr. Neuman to let him know where he is with the clean up. Mr. Buening suggested reporting back in 30 days to Mr. Neuman of the progress.

Jill Clift requested county funds to help support the sesquicentennial celebration. She will provide a copy of the budget that is intended for this celebration. City of Greensburg has contributed $25,000.

Ms. Polanski provided an update on Sardinia. Ms. Polanski would like to provide an update to IDEM to where the project stands. Ms. Polanski would like to set up another meeting with Sardinia residents. Commissioners will review enforcement letter and return comments to Ms. Polanski.

Mark Klosterkemper requested some guidance on the flooding issues on the north end of town and discussed a mitigation plan. Mr. Klosterkemper brought a donation letter for some of the health department land. Mr. Buell moved to sign the donation letter without appraisal, Mr. Buening seconded and Mr. Richards concurred.

Mayor Gary Herbert and Bill Alloy discussed the modifications that will come with the Lincoln Street Project. One project that may come will be an entrance from Montgomery Road. This will aid the emergency vehicles coming in and out of the hospital during heavy truck times during the construction.

Mr. Buell moved to recess, Mr. Buening seconded and Mr. Richards concurred.
