Position description
Position Title: Book keeper
Accountable to: Business Manager
Location: Franciscan Provincial Office
47 Victoria Street, Waverley, NSW
Nature of Engagement: Temporary
Classification: Casual
Total Working Hours:16 hours pw (exclusive of lunchbreaks)

Our Friars can be found in a variety of works that include parish priests, teachers, and Chaplains. We care for the sick and the aged, the lonely, refugees, assist families in trouble and give support to disadvantaged youth in the streets. We work to protect our environment and some of our friars are missionaries in Papua New Guinea.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Business Manager - This role will provide book keeping duties by entering data into the Associations software ‘’Reckon Accounts Premier’’
Interaction with external parties will be limited as this will be the primary responsibility of the Business Manager.
The Book keeper will be required to provide
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.Finance data entry and record keeping
- Accounts payable and receivables
- Bank reconciliations
- All the data entry for all the accounts
- Maintain the Sub Ledger Reporting system daily to ensure that transactions are placed in their correct jobs.
- Record supplier payments and office expenses in Reckon accounting software, coding to appropriate accounts.
- Enter data from the house reports as required Reconciliations of key accounts
- Reconcile all accounts on a monthly basis
2.Financial statements and reports
- Make end-of-month journals as required
- Produce the monthly statements
- Provide additional reports as required
- Work with Business Manager to review figures and provide information as requested
3.Other duties:
- Any other book keeping duties as assigned.
POSITION PRE-REQUISITES
- Demonstrated background in financial administration with familiarity of data entry, processing in Reckon Accounts Premier and or other related accounting software, bank reconciliations and generation of monthly reports.
