Method for Students to Activate and Install MatLab on PC or MAC:

Before you start:Matlab download and installation requires 4GB of available hard disk drive space, and either Windows 7 or Vista with the latest service packs or MacOS X. Each operating system has its own minimum system requirements as well, so make sure your system has the capacity to run both the operating system and the application (check video, RAM and CPU rating). MatLab will not run on tablets.

Please provide your valid FSU card and email address to theMatLab Asset Managerfor your School (_____) who will add your information to the license database. (Note: other source email addresses such as Hotmail or Gmail cannot be used for this purpose.)

You can then go online to and log onto the webpage, download the software and activate the application. The student system license number for this activation process is 731159.

Only current FSU students are eligible for free download and usage of MatLab.

You are allowed multiple installations of the software on up to three personal machines.

The license will expire on December 1st, 2012. (You will need to revalidate Matlab after it expires.)

For technical support, please call Mathworks Technical Support at 508-647-7000. Please do not call the FSU Help Desk, as they are not equipped to support MatLab.
