Do you want to improve the way you move your body in all of your activities? Then this class is for you. Each class will focus on the whole body as we develop core stabilization, strength, and joint mobility. Perfect for those new to yoga and any level of fitness.

Change the way you move, change the way you feel.

Hatha Yoga: This class takes the student with some yoga experience and expands their understanding of healthy alignment and breath. The emphasis is onpositive body awareness and discovery of individual physical needs. The goal is not to get our poses to look a certain way, but to practice in a way that feels accessible, healthy, and beneficial. Classes combine sequences and postures to help develop stamina, strength, flexibility, and balance. Each class ends with relaxing, supported postures to ease the body and mind.

Instructor: Tori Lunden has been teaching at Avonmore Community League for 5 years. Tori delights in teaching people who, like her, never thought yoga was something they could do or enjoy. Tori completed her first teacher training in 2008 through the World Conscious Yoga Family in Rishikesh, India. She has since completed trainings through Yogaworks, Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga and yin training with Paul Grilley.

Mindfulness is directly seeing what is happening in the present moment with non-judgment.Using the breath as an anchor for the mind, it gradually becomes centered and calm. Mindfulnessobserves very clearly how the mind responds to natural thoughts, sounds, bodily sensations and feelings. It is from this stillness of bare attention that understanding and ease become deep-seated in our hearts. We learn to show up for our present situations with care, balance and pure intention.

Accepting life just as it is, not how we want it to be.

Instructor - Kat Boehm feels blessed to have had the opportunity to study with a wide variety of Meditation Teachers over the years. Since 1997, she has been exploring Meditation either in Asia or here, in North America. She thrives on the benefit that silent retreats offer to deepen her understanding of Meditation. When not on retreat, she brings Mindfulness into daily life activities, reinforcing presence and connection. Kat has a strong passion to share the beauty andpossibilities that Mindfulness has to offer, for both the Heart and the Mind.
