Seniors Press Report
WEEK -ENDING 3rd DECEMBER 2017
On Thursday 30th November the very heavy rain made the senior section cancel the stableford turkey trot; this is the second week in succession that the senior’s competition has been canceled because of the weather it is a long time since this has happened.
Next Thursday 7th December the seniors will be hold a turkey trot stableford competition with the draw at 10.15 am followed by their AGM in the club’s restaurant commencing at 4.00 pm.
On The following Thursday 14th the seniors will be playing another turkey trot stableford competition with a time start commencing at 10.00am followed by their annual presentation and Christmas dinner. The poster for entries is on the seniors notice for the golf and meal closing date will be Thursday 7th December with the draw for the golf for playing partners will take place on Friday 9th December.

MIDWEEK CLUB COMPETITION
The midweek club competition to be played on Tuesday 21st November was cancelled because of the very heavy rain.
On Tuesday 28th November twenty- five brave seniors went out to play a stableford competition in wintry condition; with strong winds and heavy showers throughout their round; but be fair to all the golfers they all finished their rounds.
The winner was 25 handicapper Geoff Davies with 40 points which was an exceptional score in the conditions; winning the competition by four clear points from Gary Jelley and David Britton both with 36 points.

2nd Gary Jelley 36 points
3rd David Britton 36 points
The competition was counting for handicap purposes with the CSS 37 points; the only person handicap to be adjusted was Geoff Davies losing one shot going from 25 down to 24.
In the two’s competition the kitty was shared by two players;
Adrian Dark 4th Hole “Valley”
John Hicks 16th Hole “The Gales” he also won the prize nearest to the pin on the same hole.
