Workstation Cascade Policy
Machines that have contained admin data must now be securely wiped if they are being moved from the admin network into the curriculum. Due to the time required for the Data Wipe it is not practical for a ScoMIS Technician to carry out this task at the time of install. ScoMIS have also identified that there is potential for files to be irrecoverably lost if a Data Wipe is carried out and are recommending that the machine is not wiped for at least 3-4 weeks to allow time to recover/move files if necessary. Schools will be charged an additional per hour charge if we are required to re-visit the school to move the securely wiped machine into the curriculum area. The school is required to have carried out the Data Wipe to minimise the charge to the school by reducing time spent on site by the Technician and full instructions will be left at the time of installation.
