Discussion points for effectiveness of training programme

The programme/practices were too EASY

I became bored/lacked motivation

I was not improving my performance

I made the programme/practices more difficult and appropriate to my level

Programme started to show improvements

The programme/practices were too HARD

I could not perform the practice properly

I spent too long practicing it

I became bored/ lacked motivation and tired

My performance level dropped

I never had time to complete all of the practices in my training session

My performance therefore did not improve

I spent too LONG on the same practice

I spent too long practicing it

I became bored/ lacked motivation and tired

My performance level dropped

I never had time to complete all of the practices in my training session

I ran out of time in my session/ never had time to complete all my practices

My performance therefore did not improve

I never spent LONG ENOUGH on some practices

I ran out of time in my session/ never had time to complete all my practices

I did not have enough time to master and learn the skill/movement involved

In my next session I progressed to the next practice before mastering the previous one

My performance therefore did not improve

I never had a precise FOCUS for my practices

The focus of each practice should come from the analysis I completed before my programme

I never understood the focus of my practice and why I needed to improve it

My performance therefore did not improve

FEEDBACK

Positive

Motivated and encouraged me to improve

Negative

Too much lowered my confidence and my motivation levels dropped

CONCENTRATION

Good concentration – because practices were suited to my ability and I was focussed on improving

Or

Poor concentration - because practices were too difficult/easy and I was not focussed on improving

FATIGUE

Practising the same skill repeatedly made me tired and caused my skill level to drop

Or

My practices were timed appropriately, not too long or short with varying focus to prevent fatigue from effecting my performance

INJURY

I never improved/as much as I wanted during my training programme because I missed 3 training sessions due to injury/illness

Key words - Feedback, concentration, motivation, boredom, success level
