Title / Learn to drive a vehicle within the conditions of a Class 1 New Zealand learner driver licence

Purpose / This unit standard is for people who have: passed the New Zealand Transport Agency testing requirements; been issued their Class 1 New Zealand learner driver licence; and wish to have this recognised as prior learning by an education organisation holding consent to assess, and listed on their Record of Achievement.
People credited with this unit standard are able to: learn to drive a vehicle within the conditions of a Class 1 New Zealand learner driver licence.

Explanatory notes

1 Information on driver licence classes and conditions, and New Zealand Transport Agency driver licence testing requirements that must be met in order to be issued a Class 1 New Zealand learner driver licence, is available on The New Zealand Transport Agency website www.nzta.govt.nz.

2 This standard must only be awarded through a process of recognition of prior learning. This is evidenced through an application for award using a completed application form and presentation of a Class 1 New Zealand driver licence issued by the New Zealand Transport Agency. The required application form can be accessed at www.nzqa.govt.nz.

Outcome 1

Learn to drive a vehicle within the conditions of a Class 1 New Zealand learner driver licence.

Evidence requirements

1.1  Evidence must only be in the form of an official photographic Class 1 New Zealand driver licence issued after 27 February 2012 by the New Zealand Transport Agency.

Range – either one of a learner, restricted, or full driver licence.
