John asked that all those attending the annual meeting pay their dues before they leave the meeting. If you were not at the meeting, please send your annual membership dues of $10.00 per coach to John Ahaus by the end of November. A motion to accept the treasure’s report was made and seconded.

Dennis welcomed our new members Jim and Melanie Talley of Woodstock, IL. Melanie was not able to attend the lunch but we were able to meet Jim and lookforwarding to getting to know them both at our future campouts.

For those celebrating October, November and December birthdays and anniversaries, Dennis expressed best wishes from all of us in the club.

Old Business:

The January lunch is being arranged by Carl and Barb Bergstedt, at Clara’s Pasta Restaurant in Woodbridge, IL just off Route 53. If you wish to attend and were not at the annual meeting, please call Barb and Carl for details. Times and directions will be mailed to those who plan to attend.

New Business:

Dennis referred to notes and letters that have been received from members who will not be joining us as members in 2009. They are Terri and Jim Hass, Jack and Pat Hollis, Jim and Katherine Fiebrandt, Terri and Jim are cutting back on their activities. Jack and Pat feel that their family commitments have not left them with enough time to get to our campouts and Jim and Katherine say that their health doesn’t allow enough stamina for several days of “fun” in a row. We will miss them.

Dennis read a letter from the Illinois Indians thanking the Fox Valley Winnies for taking care of housekeeping and donating to the silent auction and door prizes. They thanked Dennis for his work on the website and all of our members for their support. He also read a letter from the Illinois Indians to Doug Formanek, WIT’S President asking that he address the problem of not allowing a club to substitute another officer to attend the Presidents dinner at GNR. Pointing out that if the club’s president does not attend GNR, the club receives none of the information made available at that dinner. They also asked that WIT’S decision to stop publishing club news in the WIT magazine be reconsidered.

Dennis reminded everyone that the Fox Valley Winnies received the 2008 Chapter of Excellence award. If you have not received your pin, they will be available at the April campout.

The 2009 campout roster is complete, with just one or two items to be confirmed. An updated copy is on the website at If you receive the minutes by mail, a copy of the roster will be included. Laurie Dukes, our new president said that a lot of arm twisting went into getting Wagonmasters and points out that it is our club and everyone needs to step up to the plate and participate.

Barb Bergstedt gave out a phone number for Henry Fetta, a long time active and honorary member of the club. He is currently experiencing some health problems and has moved to an assisted living/health care facility. If you wish to call, the number is 630-778-5513 room 110. Barb was not sure if he is currently in the health care facility or the assisted living section, but with a room number, the operator should get you to the right place. John said he would contact Shirley and arrange for a card to be sent from the club.

Phil and Nancy Russell requested that items for the food pantry be collected at this meeting. Those who forgot to bring food items were able to give a donation of money. Phil mentioned that the pressure on food pantries is really increasing and thanked everyone for their help.

The final order of business was to install the officers for 2009. They are Laurie Dukes President, Chuck Borcher Vice President, Nancy Russell Secretary and John Ahaus Treasurer.

This concluded our meeting and a motion was made to adjourn.

Respectfully submitted,

Connie Relihan
