Ø  PIAT (PA Initiative on Asssistive Technology)

1)  AT Consultation for Technical Assistance

o  Referral is made by completing form available on TLC website – Forms page, click on “ER/IFSP and other forms for services” or use direct link: http://jeffline.jefferson.edu/cfsrp/tlc/forms1.html

o  PIAT personnel schedule appointment to meet with team in family’s home for assessment, 1 ½ - 2 hours

o  Detailed written report follows, with action items (who, what, when?) for team's follow-up

AT Consults in 2007-08 – 17 referrals, 14 completed

AT Consults in 2008-09 - 8 referrals, 5 completed (to date)

2)  Searchable Assistive Technology Lending Library at http//disabilities.temple.edu/atlend

Up to 5 items can be borrowed at one time - for period of 2-6 weeks,

depending on item. Questions or need assistance to borrow materials/devices?

Programs for New Staff (CORE Requirements)

1.  Policies and Procedures (continuously available online)

2.  Introduction to Early Intervention (offered 4 times/year)

·  TLC Policies & Procedures course – new online version since October 2008.

o  32 people have completed course and passed 30 question assessment

o  77% - 5 hours or less

·  Introduction to Early Intervention

o  2007-08 – 102 people registered, 67 attended, 56 successfully completed course (66% attendance rate, 84% completion rate of those attending)

o  2008-09 – 3 courses to date, 54 people attended (70% attendance rate)

o  Mini-sessions – classes in October/November – project work November through January

o  Wrap-Up Workshop – spring dates will be scheduled and announced

New ASD Agencies

o  7 agencies participating – began in December, complete in May

Specialty Certificate Programs

·  Infant Mental Health – begins March 5, 1-4PM at Lankenau/Annenberg

·  Teaching/Supporting Families and Caregivers – date to be announced

o  Arcadia course – 16 attended

o  Communication Using Hanen principles – begins in March – still open for registration
