1st Grade

The following “I CAN” statements are based on the Ohio Fine Arts Academic Content Standards for Visual Art.

Content Standards provide broad definitions that identify the knowledge and skills students should acquire in art class. These Standards are broken down into Benchmarks and Indicators that give even more detail and show what learning targets should look like for each grade level.

The indicators (or learning targets) are then rewritten into "I CAN" statements so students and parents know what students should be learning.
