Re: Roadway Improvements to Ford Parkway in 2015

Ramsey County is planning for the reconstruction of Ford Parkway from Howell Street to Snelling Avenue in 2015. An open house style public meeting is planned for Tuesday, October 21st, 2014 at the Hillcrest Recreation Center to present information about the project. The project layout and construction plans will be available for review and comment. Staff will also be on hand to answer individual questions and receive comments and concerns.

The project is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2015. The street reconstruction will include concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer drains, sanitary sewer and water main repairs / replacements as needed, new bituminous pavement, new traffic signals at Fairview Avenue and Snelling Avenue, sodded boulevards, lantern style street lighting, pedestrian curb ramps, and concrete outwalks. Ford Parkway will have two travel lanes, two on street bicycle lanes, two parking lanes and, a center raised median with plantings. An enhanced bus stop at Fairview Avenue is included in the project as part of the larger Metro Transits Bus Rapid Transit project. Existing sidewalks will remain in place.

The public is invited to stop in anytime between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm to view the plans and talk to staff. No formal presentation will be given.
