Due to the retirement of the incumbent, Jubilee Residences Inc. has an exceptional leadership opportunity for a Vice President, Quality Care to join our Executive Team. Founded in 1955 by a group of visionary community leaders in the City of Saskatoon, Jubilee Residences has been providing care and shelter for over 60 years. Governed by an autonomous Board of Directors, Jubilee Residences has 200 long term care residents, 350 affordable housing units over two campuses as well as a successful Foundation and a robust property development plan. We have a responsive, dedicated and supportive complement of unionized and non-unionized staff.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President, Quality Careis responsible for providing a leading role in the development, coordination and implementation of Jubilee Residences’ Strategic Plan with specific accountability for providing internal expertise, direction, guidance, education and leadership to achieve high quality resident and family directed long term care.

Key leadership initiatives for theVice President, Quality Care will be to:

  • Continue to lead the transformation of Stensrud and Porteous Lodges into “best in class” homes for seniors care;
  • Champion a culture of caring, safety and innovation that continues to drive exemplary performance and accountability through an exceptional resident care experience;
  • Improve healthcare outcomes through an unwavering commitment to evidence-based practices, reflecting a culture of high performance and community collaboration;
  • Engage and leverage the tremendous talent and commitment of ourresidents, families, staff, physicians and volunteers, as well the broader health care community, to identify and implement system improvements.

Experience

The successful candidate will be a confident and visionary health system executive with a highly successful leadership track record in a resident-focused and complex multi-stakeholder and partner environment, ideally in seniors and/or long-term care.S/he will lead transformative care initiatives and an exceptional resident experience that focuses on relationships, innovation, clinical service optimization, collaboration with key partners and exceptional quality outcomes.S/he will be a collaborative and engaged leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a record of achievement in leading change in dynamic environments.

  • Post-secondary degree in business management, health or human services or other related discipline is required. Post graduate education would be an asset
  • 5-7 years of direct management experience, ideally in seniors or long-term care
  • Ability to think conceptually, portray good analytical skills, and resolve complex problems
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities to achieve organizational objectives
  • Ability to provide leadership and inspire a team of highly-skilled care providers and managers
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated ability to implement effective quality improvement, safety, accreditation, risk management, privacy systems, infection prevention and control, resident directed care and change management
  • Demonstrated operational experience in financial, risk and human resource management
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable legislation, EPP, IPAC, CBAs and Ministry of Health LTC Guidelines
  • Strong advocate for resident directed care
  • Experience in the Eden Alternative®
  • Experience in a multi-site environment
  • Strong report writing, coaching and presentation skills
  • Experience in program design and development would be an asset
  • Experience in clinical oversight would be an asset
